This fire was reported February 12, 2023. It appeared to have been started by lightening.

An estimated 1500 acres were burned. Five bulldozers and three military helicopters from Oahu battled the range fires with support from Hawaii County helicopters.  Military helicopters worked 10+ hours per day and dropped 80+ water loads/ over 67,000 gallons each day.

No communities were in imminent danger.

The fire was declared 100 percent contained on February 18, 2023
